T.U.: What was the set environment like?
M.P.: In Billy Elliot, the cast and crew are like family to me. We always have fun, even during shows!
T.U.: Are there any funny stories about the production that you would like to share?
M.P.: There are lots of funny stories, but one of my favorites was the time that I put my pants on backwards for the ending of act one.
T.U.: What is it like to have three other actors working on the same routine?
M.P.: It’s helpful, because we can learn from each other and help each other.
T.U.: Does each of you bring something unique to the role?
M.P.: Yes, because we each have strengths that create a fun and different show each day!
T.U.: Have you learned from your fellow ‘Billys’?
M.P.: I have learned lots, like dancing tricks, and tips to make the show smoother – like certain ways to change quickly so that we aren’t late for entrances.
T.U.: What was the valuable tip you got for this part?
M.P.: There isn’t one certain thing that makes the part easy or go well, but overall you need determination, because the show is really hard to get through.
T.U.: How do you find Toronto?
M.P.: I love the city, and since I lived here for a year, I know all the hot spots, restaurants, etc.
T.U.: Did you get to see much of the city?
M.P.: Billy takes up a lot of time but we get to go lots of places on Monday, our day off.
T.U.: What is on your ipod now?
M.P.: It’s all Glee cast songs; Glee is my favorite TV show!
T.U.: What’s next for you?
M.P.: I’ll probably go back to the ballet school to continue my ballet training.
T.U.: Thank you so much for your time, and best wishes for a wonderful career!
