The Magnolia Hotel<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Grain sprouted in drawers<\/p>\n

of her dreams.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the rain\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 in the fog<\/p>\n

this could be<\/p>\n

that Manhattan flat<\/p>\n

or Thoor Ballylee at eve.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Imagine:<\/p>\n

All the film noir scenes<\/p>\n

where moisture hangs<\/p>\n

dims streetlamps.<\/p>\n

And this scene is like those<\/p>\n

sans the dame in high heels<\/p>\n

walking a dog in the rain.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Imagine:<\/p>\n

All Magnolia<\/p>\n

heavy on the air.<\/p>\n

Water rolls<\/p>\n

off<\/p>\n

waxed leaves.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Imagine:<\/p>\n

All echo<\/p>\n

An era of trains<\/p>\n

And this the MKT.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Imagine:<\/p>\n

All the fabrics of the world.<\/p>\n

Pashminas of beaded purple silk.<\/p>\n

Chiffon, linen,<\/p>\n

of haute couture.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ladies in red and white<\/p>\n

and black taffeta with velvet.<\/p>\n

Coming and going<\/p>\n

Talking.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The old hotel grande.<\/p>\n

And the rooms<\/p>\n

The deepest channels<\/p>\n

once accommodated<\/p>\n

large vessels<\/p>\n

otherwise, be lacking.<\/p>\n
